Ya´axche Tourist Camp
Lacanja Chansayab is a Lacandon subcommunity that bases its subsistence on the natural resources provided by the biodiversity of Montes Azules and on the Maya cultural legacy expressed in the natural monument of Bonampak.
Flora
It constitutes the largest expanse of evergreen rainforest in the country. The Lacandon Jungle is home to more plant species than all the states of northern Mexico combined. It is estimated that in a single hectare of the Lacandon Jungle there are 267 plant species, of which 160 are trees.
Trees such as mahogany, rosewood and cedar stand out; among the plants I can mention tree ferns, bromeliads, orchids and many epiphytic plants.
Fauna
In the Lacandon Jungle there are many species endemic to the Mesoamerican humid forests and several animal species that are threatened or in danger of extinction, such as the jaguar (Panthera onca), the harpy eagle (Harpia harpyja) and the scarlet macaw (Ara macao), among other animals.
Cultural Aspects
On the edges of the Montes Azules Biosphere Reserve lies the only natural site inhabited by Maya descendants, who still preserve their cultural traditions, faithful guardians of the vestiges of Maya culture, located in the vicinity of the Bonampak archaeological zone.

• Lodging in comfortable stilt-house style cabins set within the vegetation beside a stream that is a tributary of the Lacanjá river.
• Meals in a palapa typical of the area, where you are offered food prepared by the very ladies of the family.
