Iglesia Vieja Archaeological Zone

The Archaeological Zone of Iglesia Vieja is located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre. Currently under study and still difficult to access, this archaeological zone promises fascinating revelations about the pre-Hispanic past of the coast. It is a large complex that includes pyramid foundations, long stone walls, sculptures and carved stelae. It is located north of the city of Tonalá, 6 kilometers away along a secondary road. It still does not have basic infrastructure, but a visit offers, in addition to the archaeological interest, the possibility of observing the mountain nature.
